Silver State Scholarships is proud to introduce the Red Apple Coin Bank Campaign, a fun, community-driven fundraising initiative designed to engage donors of all ages while generating sustainable support for the organization’s Scholarships and Beyond the Bell programs. Rooted in the symbolism of education, generosity, and growth, the campaign invites individuals, families, schools, and businesses to turn everyday spare change into meaningful opportunity for Nevada students.

At the heart of the campaign are bright red, reusable apple-shaped coin banks. Supporters may receive an apple with a suggested $10 donation, or apples may be distributed to prospective donors, students, classrooms, and community partners as an entry point to engagement. Participants are encouraged to fill their apples with coins and bills over time and return them during Silver State Scholarships Apple Harvest ay events, held twice annually—once in the Spring and once in the Fall.

Apple Harvest Day Events

During each Apple Harvest Day, collected apples are celebrated, tallied, and returned to participants to be refilled for the next harvest—reinforcing a culture of ongoing giving rather than one-time donations. This cyclical approach transforms a simple coin bank into a lasting symbol of participation, pride, and impact.

Awards will be presented for top fundraisers across different categories, with special recognition for overall campaign leaders, that includes;

  • Corporation or Local Business
  • School
  • Student

The Fall Apple Harvest Days serve as the culminating celebrations of the Red Apple Coin Bank Campaign, bringing the community together once again to turn generosity into opportunity.

Supporters return their refilled apples, reflecting months of everyday giving that add up to life-changing impact. This event promotes direct donor engagement, sustained participation, recognizes outstanding supporters, and highlights the students and programs made possible through the campaign.

All funds raised through the Red Apple Coin Bank Campaign will be designated exclusively to support Silver State Scholarships’ scholarship awards and Beyond the Bell enrichment programs, ensuring donors know their contributions are directly investing in student success beyond the classroom.
